Things I Drive

I've always loved cars - old cars.  An old car that carries with it not only the spirit and ethos of some bygone time, but also a rich history that makes the experience of owning such a thing much more satisfying (to me) than anything that I can walk up to a dealer's lot and lease.

All of that aside, there's something to be said for being able to confidently drive out of the state, or make a business meeting on time.   Fortunately, any sensible vehicles that we as a family own can be safely considered the domain of my wife, even though I may be forced to use them when none of my cars will start   :)

Here's what I'm driving now:

      " Ed " , My '71 BMW 2002 (2 owners in 28 years!)

      " Jesse " , a '75 Buick LeSabre Convertible (cruisin' in a laid back way... )

My '81 Honda CM400E (motorcycle) (makes my wife crazy)

" The Lizzard " '72 AMX (upscale AMC Javelin) that's been built for the drag strip.

2000 BMW 323ci (I needed something that wouldn't break down every week... )

'85 Honda GL650 'Silver Wing'   (motorcycle) (makes my wife even more crazy)

A 1994 Jaguar XJS Convertible .  This is our sensible family car :)

1979 Porsche 928   This is why I don't drive the Jag anymore.

Some of the other cars I've had :

'80 VW Diesel Rabbit (my first car!)

'74 Volvo 145 Wagon (purchased for $200, painted camouflage in its later days)

'80 BMW 320i (well, I sort of still have this - it's on permanent loan to a friend... )

"Oliver", a '84 Saab 900 (bought with my former fiancée :(  )

'87 Alfa Romeo Milano (once owned by Marc Elvy)

'71 Triumph TR6 (I cried when I sold this)

'79 MG Midget (found in a friend's warehouse under a pile of laundry. "The rustiest MG I've ever seen...")

'89 Jeep Wrangler  (If not old, at least fun - well, until the big boss lady took my company car away)

Over time, I intend to create content for each of these to discuss them in more detail.
